📖 What you need to know

Real estate licensing in Florida is governed by the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC), which operates under the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). To earn a sales associate license you must complete a 63-hour pre-licensing course and pass the state exam, then complete 45 hours of post-licensing education before your first renewal. A newly licensed sales associate cannot work independently and must be employed by and work under the supervision of a licensed broker, who is responsible for the associate's real estate activities.
